On 24 March 2023, Free in partnership with Unifun, launched a new communication channel with its Customers, called Balance+.

Now, Free’s Subscribers, by dialing #176# balance check short-code, will see personalized advertising proposals.

With Balance+, there is no need for Subscribers to remember different short-codes to activate interesting products or services. If Subscriber checks balance and sees an interesting offer that suits his needs, he can simply introduce in the same USSD session the required digit and activate the promoted service on the go.

Also, Balance+ provides Free with a range of targeting options to deliver the most relevant advertisement to each Subscriber at the right time. The platform allows Free to tailor USSD tails based on a range of criteria, such as main balance, active services, language settings, tariff plan, current location, etc. Additionally, the platform provides Free with tools to manage USSD tail broadcast settings, allowing them to set the order, priority, and maximum number of displays for each specific offer.
