Vodacom DR Congo is 51% owned by Vodacom International Limited and 49% owned by Congo Wireless Network. With a capital of 76.5 million US Dollars, its corporate purpose is to install, operate and maintain a GSM telecommunications network throughout the Democratic Republic of Congo to provide telecommunications services on a viable commercial basis.

Vodacom DR Congo obtained its GSM license in December 2001 and a commercial service was launched under the Vodacom brand in May 2002. Currently, it offers a range of telecommunications services including contract and prepaid services, Internet packages, Voice Messaging, Papa Happiness and others.

The company is focused on maintaining its leading market positions in existing markets and expanding profitably into new communication products, services and geographies and to grow its customer base through continued investment in networks and distribution capability. In addition, it aims to increase mobile usage by launching affordable and innovative products.
