Viettel Global was established in October 2006 with the purpose and responsibility to transform Viettel, the largest telecommunication group in Vietnam, into a strong telecommunication group on international stage.

After 9 years of development, Viettel Global is one of the biggest Vietnamese foreign investors. It is now operating 9 telecommunication companies in 9 countries across Asia, Africa and Latin America. By 2017, it expects to start operating on 7 additional markets.

Currently, Viettel Global subsidiaries have leading positions on their national telecom markets, for example, Halotel in Tanzania, Metfone in Cambodia, Telemor in Timor-Leste or Movitel in Mozambique.
