Formerly Tigo Chad, operator launched its activity in Chad in 2005 and has gone on to become the largest mobile network in the country that offers mobile voice communications, 2G, 3G and 4G (LTE) technology. 2014 was a milestone year as they became the first company to bring 4G LTE internet connectivity to the region, boasting 75 percent of the market share for broadband services, and over 2.6 million customers overall (as of September 2014).
Furthermore, Tigo Chad became part of the Millicom Group, with operations across 15 countries in Africa and Latin America and over 53 million customers. It is the first operation within the Millicom Group in Africa to launch 4G LTE technologies – a first for Chad and also for the entire CEMA C zone.
Starting with 1st of January 2021, Maroc Telecom is rebranding its eleven subsidiaries in Africa as Moov Africa, including Tigo Chad, who became Moov Africa Chad. In 2020, it has more than 4.5 million customers. It offers a quality telecommunications service, as well as various value-added services (Internet, Mobile Money).
