Orange Bissau is the dominant of two mobile network operators in Guinea-Bissau. The company is majority owned (~90%) by Sonatel, itself a subsidiary of Orange Group (estimated Orange ownership ~38%), with the remaining 10% held privately.The company provides 2G GSM services over 900 and 1800 MHz bands, and launched the country’s first 3G UMTS (HSPA+) network in May 2015 over the B1 (2100 MHz) band. Another first for the country, Orange Guinea-Bissau launched its 4G LTE network in December 2015 over an unconfirmed band. Orange Bissau is expected to utilise B3 (1800 MHz) LTE, based on harmonisation with Orange’s other West African deployments.
